This summer, experience a piece of Ireland at the Serca Festival of Irish Theatre, co-produced by Theatre Prospero . Artistic Director Mark Henderson envisioned a festival that would that would celebrate showcase and encourage theatre created by or about Ireland and Irish people. This year's festival features 5 mainstage plays at La Cite with an Irish pub (complete with Irish poetry readings and Irish music) in between performances and a public reading at The Carrot Coffee House. This six-day Festival has something for everyone. This year we feature the plays "Mojo Mickybo" by Owen McCafferty, "Molly Sweeney" by Brian Friel, "Secrets of Immortality" inspired by the prison writings of Oscar Wilde and conceived by Jeff Page, "Faith Healer" by Brian Friel, "Beckett's Shorts" by Samuel Beckett, and a public reading of "Maggie Now parts 1-4" by Jennifer Spencer (read at The Carrot coffee house) .
